Professor
Xinghuo Yu is the Founding Director of the Platform Technologies Research Institute of RMIT University (Royal
Melbourne Institute of Technology), Melbourne, Australia. Professor Yu’s research interests
include variable structure and nonlinear control, complex and intelligent
systems and industrial information technologies. He has published over 400
refereed papers in technical journals, books and conference proceedings as well
as co-edited several research books.
Professor Yu is currently an Associate Editor of
IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems Part I, IEEE Transactions on
Industrial Informatics, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, and
several other scholarly journals. He has been on the program committees of many
international conferences, and co-chaired several international conferences
including IECON2011. Professor Yu was the sole recipient of the 1995
Central Queensland University Vice Chancellor's Award for Research, and was
made Emeritus Professor of
Professor Yu is the Vice-President for Publications
of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES). He is an IEEE IES
Distinguished Lecturer, a Fellow of the IEEE, a Fellow of the Institution of
Engineers Australia (IEAust), and a Fellow of the
Australian Computer Society (ACS). He is also Chair of IEEE IES
Technical Committee on Smart Grids.
